Airy Lee Turner Obituary (1929

Airy Lee Turner, 92, of Stanford, KY passed away peacefully at Stanford Care & Rehabilitation on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. She was born on August 13, 1929, in Lincoln County to the late Robert Gives Turner and Orah Bell Miller-Turner. Airy accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Boneyville, where she served as a member of the Missionary Society, Women's Choir, Usher Board and as a Sunday school teacher while her health allowed. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Freda Grigsby and Virginia B. Turner; one brother, Henry Adam Turner one daughter, Margo Turner; and one son, Robert J. Alcorn. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons, Richard Alcorn of Stanford and Paul Turner (Pamela) of Everett, WA; one grandson, Patrick Turner (Aubrey) of Everett, WA; two granddaughters, Perissa Turner of Boerne, TX and Lucy Turner of Everett, WA; one sister, Addie Gooch (Robert) of Stanford; and a caregiver, Sherry Fitzgerald (Oneith) of Stanford; she is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and she will truly be missed. A one-day service will be on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Reginald Pullums officiating. Burial will follow at Carson Cemetery.
