Carolyn McClure

Carolyn Sowders McClure, 77, of Stanford, KY passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Landmark of Lancaster. Born on February 27, 1947, in Stanford, KY to the late Craig and Bernie Atkins Sowders.

A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, Carolyn had a heart full of love for her family. Carolyn spent her working years as a dedicated sales associate in the sporting goods department at Walmart in Danville, KY, where she retired after 30 years of service. Carolyn was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church for over 50 years.

Survivors include two children, Karen (Tony) Morgan and Terry (Ellen) McClure, one brother, Kim Sowders, seven grandchildren, Jessica McClure, Autumn Morgan, Austin McClure, Justice Morgan, Keigan Morgan, Katie Robbins and Caleb Morgan; nine great-grandchildren, Trent, Kyren, Alayah, Ava, Kolby, Keaton, Kaiser, Alaina and Houston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Craig and Berna Sowders.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Spurlin Funeral Home, Stanford, Kentucky. A memorial service will follow at the same location at 3:00pm.
