Delmar Howard Flanery Obituary (1934 - 2019)

Delmar Howard Flanery, 84, of Waynesburg, KY passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at home. Born December 28, 1934 in Waynesburg, KY to the late Roach Oliver Flanery and Maude Griffin, he was a veteran of the United States Marines where he served in the Korean War, and was a retired employee of Ford Motor Company. He was a 50 year member of Waynesburg Masonic Lodge 328, a member of VFW and American Legion, and a member of McKinney Christian Church. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy Flanery of Waynesburg, KY; two sons; one daughter; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister; and three brothers. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford from 5-8pm with a Masonic Service beginning at 7:30pm. Funeral service will be 1pm Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the funeral home with Rev. David Gambrel officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Highland, KY with military rites performed by American Legion Caswell Saufley Post #18.
