Denver Lee Petrey, 58, of Lancaster, KY passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 at home. Born July 17, 1958 in Stanford to the late James and Myrtle Bailey Petrey. He worked as a farm hand for most of his life; he enjoyed fishing and playing the guitar. Survivors include his wife; Teresa Gail Petrey of Lancaster, KY, six sons; Denver Lee Petrey Jr. (Carol) of Georgetown, KY, Everet Petrey of Georgetown, KY, Chad Petrey (Brandi) of Georgetown, KY, Justin Thacker (Samantha) of Crab Orchard, KY, Donnie Thacker of Crab Orchard, KY, and David Thacker of Crab Orchard, KY; Four daughters; Crystal Gail Hash (Mike) of Georgetown, KY, Christie Luv of Lancaster, KY, Susie Thacker, of Brodhead, KY, and Anna Thacker of Brodhead, KY; five brothers; Stanley Petrey (Judy) of Georgetown, KY, Ancel Petrey of Bardstown, KY, Billy Petrey of Georgetown, KY, Curtis Petrey of Ohio, Robert Petrey of Kansas ; Four sisters; Wanda Foley of Crab Orchard, KY, Bonnie Genten of Indiana, Nancy Kidd of Jellico, TN, and Sue Miller of Jellico, TN, ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brother, Delver Petrey, Wallace Petrey, and James Herman Petrey; and one sister, Doris Denny. A memorial service and interment will be held from 1p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 3905 Poor Ridge Rd., Lancaster, KY 40444 Spurlin Funeral Home, Stanford is in charge of the arrangements.
