Dewey "Dean" Moore Obituary (1948 - 2016)

Dewey "Dean" Moore, 67, of Stanford, KY passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. Born August 23, 1948 in Hazard, KY, he was the son of the late Charles and Lola Hurt Moore and was the companion for 27 years of the late Anita "Dee Dee" Brown. He attended Dilce Combs High School in Hazard, KY, was a retired employee of the Kentucky State Road Department, and attended South Fork Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter; Kara Michelle Stanton (Tim) of Parkers Lake, KY, two step-sons; Michael Ray Brown (Kelly) of Hustonville, KY, and Denver Miller of Somerset, KY, one brother; Roger Moore of Hazard, KY, five grandchildren; David Allen Kingsley, Taylor Dean Kingsley, Ainsleigh Brown, Lyndsay Rowland, and Courtney Miller, one great-grandchild; Chloe Rouse, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and companion, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter; Shannon Miller, and three brothers; Lee Hurt, Eddie Moore, and Roy Gene Moore. A one day service has been scheduled for Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Visitation will be from 11am-2pm with funeral service beginning at 2pm with Reverend Mike Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery and casket bearers will be: Larry Walls, Randy Adams, Billy "Goat" Long, James Caudill, Steve Jones, Billy Masterson, Keith Reichenbach, and Greg Smith. Honorary bearers are: Paul Buis, Alice Garland, the Lincoln County State Road Department, and his friends at Fort Logan Trading Post in Stanford, KY.
