Frankie Barlow

Frankie Fletcher Barlow, 87, of Stanford, KY passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Stanford Crossing. Born on April 27, 1937 in New Salem, KY to the late J.C. and Carrie Baugh Fletcher. She is the widow to the late Thomas Wesley Barlow.

Frankie was a woman of faith and service, deeply rooted in her community of Stanford, Kentucky. She was a proud member of the Stanford Baptist Choir for many years. Her faith was unwavering, transitioning from Stanford Baptist Church for many years to New Salem Baptist Church, where she was finally home. She also served her community as a member of the Lincoln County Homemakers, consistently demonstrating her commitment to nurturing and uplifting those around her. She was also a member of Sweet Adeline’s, a global A Capella singing competition.

Frankie was much more than her involvement in the church and community; she was a beacon of love and compassion. Known for sending cards to those she cared about, Frankie had a special gift for making people feel loved and important. She found joy in her family, cherishing her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include one daughter, Rebekah Rowe (Mark) of Waynesburg; two step-sons, Tom Barlow (Mary) of Harrodsburg, KY and Mike Barlow (Marilyn) of Hustonville, KY; two brothers, Hershel Fletcher of Junction City, KY and Dallas Fletcher (Billie Ann) of Stanford; one sister-in-law, Nita Fletcher; two grandchildren, Hayden Godbey (Lauren) and Jared Godbey; one great-grandchild, Harlyn Godbey; six step-grandchildren, Todd Barlow (Shelley), Daniel Barlow, Jennifer Barlow, Toban Barlow (Missy), Katherine Rowe (Mitchell), Sarah Sheldon (Eric); and four step-greatgrandchildren, Zack Barlow, Brantlei Barlow, Gerald Sheldon and Andrea Sheldon. Frankie is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including her namesake, Terri Ann Yates; several cousins, including one special cousin, Peggy Coffman; and a large circle of very close friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Barlow; parents, J.C. and Carrie Fletcher; two brothers, Ralph Fletcher and Lou Fletcher; and three sisters, Amy Maxey, Sue Martin and Nancy Henson.

A one-day service will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Jarib Burnett and Bro. Greg Hancock officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be donated to New Salem Baptist Church, Children’s Playground Fund, 10680 HWY 698, Hustonville, KY 40437.
