Gary "Bear" S. Holland

Gary "Bear" S. Holland, 59, of Waynesburg, KY passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. Born on March 1, 1963 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late James "Jim" and Janet Neely Holland. He loved his dogs, enjoyed watching football, fishing and being outside. Bear was a jack of all trades, never met a stranger and had an infectious smile. Most of all he loved playing with his grandkids and just simply being with his family. Bear was also a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of New Life House of Worship.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Alison Holland of Waynesburg,, KY; mother, Janet Holland; two sons, Josh Holland (Ashley) of Whiteland, Indiana and Dakota Holland of Indianapolis, Indiana; two daughters, Mitzi Holland of McAllen, TX and Jordyn Kidd (Michael) of Waynesburg, KY; two brothers, Lonnie Holland (Pam) and Toby Holland; two sisters, Christine Garrett (Jim) and Susan McFarland (Steve); seven grandchildren, Christian Holland, Ariana Holland, Paisleigh Kidd, Colton Kidd, Warren Wilson, Carter Wilson and Parker Wilson; several nieces and nephews; and best friends, who he considered brothers, Carmelo Malpica, Jr. and Timmy Goodin.

He was preceded in death by his father, James "Jim" Holland; one son, Tanner Max Holland; and two brothers, Mike Holland and Denny Holland.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Smith officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
