Jerry Wayne Johnson

Jerry Wayne Johnson, 66, of Danville, KY passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in Louisville, KY. Born on September 30, 1954 in Danville, KY to the late Melvin Johnson and the late Cora Ellen Stevens Johnson. He was the widower to the late Trudy Johnson. He enjoyed playing pool, watching sports and listening to country music. He and his late wife enjoyed dancing in their younger years.

He is survived by one son, Jerry Wayne Johnson, Jr. (Amanda) of Springfield, KY; three daughters, Tammy Neikirk Gadberry (Tommy) of Danville, KY, Tammy Johnson Herring of Danville, KY and Christy Johnson Rico (Mario) of Stanford, KY; two brothers, Melvin Johnson (Priscilla) and Jeff Johnson (Louise); six sisters, Clara Swinney, Connie Downs (Marcus Jenkins), Patricia Randolph (Dave), Mary Brock (Darrell), Brenda Brock and Kathy Johnson (Gary); twelve grandchildren, Delaina McKee, Kelsey Flores, Lacey Lane, Travis Herring, Dexter Herring, Kaitlin Herring, Jameson Johnson, Peyton Johnson, Jensen Johnson, Trenton Johnson, Aaliyah Rico and Mario Rico; several great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Trudy Johnson; and four brothers, Ricky Allen Johnson, Marvin Johnson, Mike Johnson and Delmer Johnson.

A one-day service has been scheduled for Friday, March 5, 2021 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY with Pastor Priscilla Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the Funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery in Danville, KY.

Pallbearers are Jesse Johnson, Travis Herring, Jameson Johnson, Peyton Johnson, Dennis Johnson and Daniel Johnson.
