Jewel Reed Cooper

Jewel Reed Cooper, 89, of Lexington, KY passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Sayre Christian Healthcare in Lexington. Born September 28, 1926 in McKinney, KY, she was the daughter of the late Atlas and Grace Manning Reed, and was the widow of the late W.O. "Bill" Cooper. She had lived in Woodstock, GA for several years with her daughter and family, and for the last two years she was a resident of the Sayre Christian Village. She was a member of McKinney Christian Church.

Survivors include one son; Joe Cooper (Pam) of Lexington, KY, one daughter; Jane Cooper Graham (Steve) of Woodstock, GA, one brother; Clint Reed (Brenda) of Tennessee, two sisters; Ruby Norris of Savannah, GA, and Rosalea Boone of Lexington, KY, five grandchildren; Scott Graham, Lee Graham, Amanda Graham Chapman, Tim Cooper, and Rebecca Cooper Collier, twelve great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 6-8:30pm at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Funeral service will be 11am Monday, February 22, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastors Lee Graham and Tim Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY. Casket bearers will be: Scott Graham, Lee Graham, Ian Graham, Todd Chapman, Tim Cooper, Nate Collier, and Trace Wilhoite.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to Sayre Christian Village in Lexington, KY.
