Jim "Tuffy" Hester Obituary (1950

Jim "Tuffy" Hester, 67, of Stanford, KY passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford. Born February 5, 1950 in Stanford, KY to the late Henry Hardin Hester and Vivian Hester Sims, he was a retired employee of Norfolk Southern where he worked as an engineer for 36 years. He was also a member of Stanford Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; Judy Hester, two sons; Brackstan Duncan (Tonya) of Winchester, Zac Hester (Eli) of Bagdad, two daughters; Amanda Foster (Damon), and Rhoda Beachy (Steven) all of Stanford, one brother; Jon Hester (Judy) of Stanford, one sister-in-law; Kakie Hester of Lexington, one step-sister; Terri Campbell of Louisville, and ten grandchildren; Clay, Brack, Lacee, Sophie, Tiara, Octavia, Neisha, and Coltin Duncan of Winchester, and Emma and Tucker Foster of Stanford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Henry James Hester, one brother; Jerry Hester, and step-father; Wesley "Papa" Sims. A one day service has been scheduled for Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Visitation will be from 2-5:30pm and the funeral service will begin at 5:30pm with Reverend Nick Manzie officiating. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to Stanford Baptist Church Choir Fund (204 Church Street, Stanford, KY 40484).
