Judy Leathers

Judy Carol Reed Leathers, 82, of Stanford, KY passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Ft. Logan Hospital in Stanford. Born on March 11, 1943 in Harrodsburg, KY to the late Horace and Thelma Toombs Reed of Harrodsburg. She was a 1961 graduate of Harrodsburg High School where she was Co-Valedictorian of her senior class. She was an employee of Whirlpool and Matsushita for 26 years before her retirement. Judy was a member of Bohan Church of Christ in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, prior to her marriage to James Leathers. Following their marriage, she became a member of Salt River Baptist Church in Danville. In 2007, she joined First Baptist Church of Danville.

Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, James Leathers; two sons, Chad Leathers (Missy) of Louisville, KY and Keith Leathers of Lexington, KY; one daughter, Dawn Day (Daryl) of Stanford; one brother, Vance Reed (Cordelia) of Harrodsburg; three grandsons, Colin (Whitney) of Louisville, Brennan of Louisville, Killen (Hannah) of Lexington; and one granddaughter, Madelyn Day of Stanford; four great-grandchildren, Anniston, Denver, Colson and Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Thelma Reed; and one sister, Patsy Roberts.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 9, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Tim Mathis officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens in Danville, KY.

Active Pallbearers are Daryl Day, Killen Day, Colin Leathers, Brennan Leathers, Wayne Hollon and Chip Hollon.
