Kenneth Gooch

Kenneth Wayne Gooch, 73, of Stanford, KY passed away at home on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. Born on December 29, 1952 in Covington, KY to Addie Turner Gooch and the late Robert Lee Gooch.

Kenneth was a lifelong farmer who found great satisfaction in a hard day's work and the simple pleasures of country living. For over 50 years, he worked on the Wyler family farm, where he dedicated much of his life to caring for the land and doing the work he loved. Farming was not just his occupation, but a way of life that he truly enjoyed.
Kenneth had a special fondness for his tractors and Jeeps. When he wasn't working on the farm, he enjoyed rabbit hunting, fishing, and spending time with his friends. He appreciated the simple things in life and was happiest doing what he loved, surrounded by familiar faces and the countryside he called home. He especially enjoyed listening to The Freewill Travelers, a gospel group in which his father was a member. One of Kenneth's greatest joys was hearing his daddy sing "How Far Is Heaven," a song that held a special place in his heart and brought back cherished memories of his father. He was a member of Boneyville Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Addie Turner Gooch; five children, LaTasha Cox (Michael), Kendra Hocker, Tamara Routt, Alando Chappell, Tiffany Taylor (Jamar); one sister, Sherry Fitzgerald (Oneith); four brothers, Nelson Gooch, Jeff Gooch, Melvin Gooch and Scottie Gooch (Connie); twenty-one grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Gooch; one sister, Linda Goodloe; and one brother, Roger Gooch.

A one-day service will be on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Elder Robert Coulter, Jr. & Pastor Cedric Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford.

Active Pallbearers are Jaciyon Graves, Elijah Frye, Camen Frye, Keithon Fitzgerald, Christian Wyler and George Miller.

Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Wyler, David Wyler, John Routt, Robert Coulter, Sr., Melvin Gooch, Scottie Gooch, Nelson Gooch, Jeff Gooch and Daniel Gooch.
