Larry Nelson Russell Obituary (1949 - 2019)

Larry Nelson Russell, 70 of Waynesburg, KY passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at home. Born March 10, 1949 in Danville, KY to the late Hearn Russell and Phyllis Douglas, he worked as a carpenter for most of his life, was a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of Parlor Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Russell of Waynesburg, KY; two brothers, Roy Hearn Russell, and James William Russell; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, and one sister, Carol Sims. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 5-9 PM at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be 1pm Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the funeral home with Bro. Dan Gutenson officiating. Burial will follow at Parlor Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, in Waynesburg, KY with military rites performed by American Legion Caswell Saufley Post # 18. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Gideon's International. Casket bearers will be: Roy Russell, Jimmy Bowen, Carly Bullock, Levi Russell, Jeremy Garrison, and P.J. Vest. Honorary bearers are: Monty Cook, James Russell, and Danny Bowen.
