Diane Mills Obituary (1949 - 2024)

Linda “Diane” (Dunfee) Mills was born on August 8, 1949, in Effingham, Illinois, to the late Harold Leroy and Evelyn Faye (Bounds) Dunfee. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Stanford Crossing Nursing Home. Diane worked as a seamstress for over 40 years, spending much of her career at Central Ohio Awning before retiring from Mound City Products in 2009. In her free time, Diane enjoyed listening to Joe Bonamassa, gardening, trying her luck with scratch-off tickets, and spending time at the Newark Eagles, where she cherished the company of her friends. She is survived by her children, James “Jim” (Amber) Salyers, Steve (Danielle) Salyers, and Brandy (Rena) Drakeford; her grandchildren, Kaitalyn “Kaita” Salyers Van Bokhorst, Shae Salyers, Dustin Salyers, Heaven Jones, Peyton Miller, Maya Salyers, Audrey Salyers, Carolyn Phillips, and Aaron “Skyler” Franklin; and her best friend, Julie Fellure. Diane is also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Chestine “Chet” Plummer, Deborah “Debbie” Townsend, Rickie “Rick” Dunfee, and Sherry Lynn Berger. A memorial gathering for friends and family will be held at the Newark Eagles at a later date to honor Diane’s life and the many memories shared with her.
