Lois Yocum

Lois Eldridge Yocum, 79, of McKinney, KY passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Baptist Health Lexington. Born on November 25, 1946 in Blackey, KY to the late Preston Eldridge and the late Erma Halcomb Eldridge. She is the widow to the late Willie Yocum.
She enjoyed working puzzles, reading a good book, quilting, and embroidery, taking pride in the beautiful creations she made with her hands. She was also a devoted fan of Days of Our Lives.

Survivors include four children, Paula Terry, Sheila Broaddus (Keith), Sandy Petrey (Leon) and Regina Tarter (Jeff); one sister, Betty Mullins; nine grandchildren, Amber Terry, Cullen Terry, Dawn Lenoir (Kevin), Crystal Gilliam (Jake), Nathan Broaddus (Barbara), Adam Petrey, Hannah Tarter, Courtney Ford and Zack Tarter; ten great-grandchildren, Rilee Godbey, Gracie Lenoir, Emersyn Lenoir, Micah Lenoir, Greyson Gilliam, Everly Gilliam, Bentley Broaddus, Reagan Broaddus, Piper Broaddus and Leo Ford; four step-children, Diane Raiza, Geraldine Yocum, Billy Yocum and Judy Harris; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Yocum, parents, Preston and Erma Eldridge; and five siblings, William Vincent Eldridge, Dallas Eldridge, Donald Eldridge, Clayton Eldridge and Cora Lou Eldridge.

A one-day service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Chris Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Methodist Cemetery in Stanford, KY.

Active Pallbearers are Jeff Tarter, Zack Tarter, Keith Broaddus, Nathan Broaddus, Kevin Lenoir and Jake Gilliam.

Honorary Pallbearers are Leon Petrey, Lewis Allison and Wanda Allison.
