Lyle Thomas "Tommy" Poynter Obituary (1940

Lyle Thomas "Tommy" Poynter, 74, of Stanford, KY passed away Saturday, June 06, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Stanford, KY. Born August 25, 1940 in Lancaster, KY, he was the son of the late Logan and Hattie Gill Poynter. He worked as a welder and farmer for most of his life. Survivors include one son; Karl Poynter (Alisha) of Gravel Switch, KY, one daughter; Patricia Poynter of Danville, KY, two sisters; Ruth Spaw and Nell Manning both of Stanford, KY, six grandchildren; Kevin Polston of Stanford, KY, Rita McMicheal of Taylorsville, KY, Karl Poynter II of Danville, KY, Brittany Woodall of Danville, KY, Daniel Hicks of Gravel Switch, KY, and Nathaniel Hicks of Lexington, KY, six great-grandchildren, two nieces, and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be Monday, June 8, 2015 from 5-7pm at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. A memorial service will begin at 7pm with Reverend Brad King officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
