Martha Rose Bishop Bailey

Martha Rose Bishop Bailey, 91, of Stanford, KY passed away Thursday, September 08, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Stanford. Born October 29, 1924 in Lincoln County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Francis Marion Bishop and Rosa Lee Coy Bishop. She was the widow of the late Earl Bailey and worked as a homemaker for most of her life. She was a loving mother, a member of New Beginnings United Methodist Church, a former longtime member of Neals Creek United Methodist Church, and a lifetime member of the Methodist Women's Club.

Survivors include one son; Leslie Earl Bailey, three daughters; Wilma Louise Maples (Lonnie), Sandra Lee Brent, and Susan Lynn Chambers (Danny) all of Stanford, KY, one brother; Malcomb Bishop of Richmond, KY, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a special friend; Teresa Bailey. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother; Frank Bishop, and two sisters; Elizabeth Terry and Ruth Bailey Turpin.

A one day service has been scheduled for Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Visitation will be from 10am-2pm and funeral service will begin at 2pm with Bro. Darrell Hahn officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Waynesburg, KY. Casket bearers will be: Kenny Chambers, Scott Maples, Jeremy Maples, Gary Terry, Michael Terry, Earl Terry, and Mike Bishop. Honorary bearers will be her nieces and nephews.
