Nancy Harmon Herrington Ewing Obituary (1927 - 2015)

Nancy Harmon Herrington Ewing, 87, of Danville, KY passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Christian Care Center in Lancaster. Born December 27, 1927 in McKinney, KY to the late William McCellan and Lucie Ann Carson Harmon, she was the widow of the late William Henry Herrington and Donald Eugene Ewing. She was a former employee of Palm Beach Inc., Corning Glass Inc., and Phillips Lighting Inc., was the owner and operator of Pal's Laundromat, Ewing's Grocery & Hardware, and Highview Farm. She was a member of D.A.R, Lincoln County Historical Society, McCormack's Church Foundation, and Fort Logan Foundation. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Danville. Survivors include two daughters; Mary Jo Gibson (Jerry), and Ruth Ann Herrington both of Danville, KY, two grandchildren; Marty Gibson and Brice Gibson both of Danville, KY, two great-grandchildren; Sam Gibson and Lucy Kate Gibson, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son; William Henry Herrington II, four brothers; John Leslie Harmon, Billy Harmon, Charles Harmon, and Carl T. Harmon, and two sisters; Mary Alice Wilcher and Martha Ellen Dunn. Visitation will be Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 6-8pm at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Funeral service will be 11am Friday, September 25, 2015 at the funeral home with Reverend Jim Baughman officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the Lincoln County Senior Citizens and/or the Boyle County Senior Citizens.
