Odia Odell Dowell Obituary (1940 - 2019)

Odia Odell Dowell, 78, of Waynesburg, KY passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Ft. Logan Hospital in Stanford, KY. Born July 1, 1940 in Waynesburg, KY to the late Frank and Elsie Simpson Dowell. Odia was a retired carpenter who enjoyed quilting, collecting knives, bird watching, fishing and he also had a love for dogs. He is survived by three sons, Tony Dowell (Yvette) of New Port Richey, FL, Joseph Dowell (Sherri) of Port Richey, FL and Steve Henderlong of Elfers, FL; three daughters, Lisa Kroening of Hudson, FL, Melinda Wellsman (Michael) of Waynesburg, KY and Angela Hammond of Weeki Wachie, FL; three brothers, Walter Dowell, Donald Dowell and Freamon Dowell; twelve grandchildren, Heather, Jason, Kristen, Samantha, T.J., Megan, Joseph, Jacob, Jennifer, Charlie, Christa and Cody; and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary Dowell, Russell Dowell and Kenneth Dowell; and one sister, Alma Dowell Saylor. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 1-4 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY.
