Phillip Sims

Phillip Sims, 68, of Stanford, KY passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at U.K. Chandler Medical Center in Lexington. Born January 16, 1949 in Kings Mountain, KY to the late Joseph and Patry Polston Sims, he worked as a gas station attendant for most of his life, and was known by many as the "man with three thumbs". He was also a member of the Pentecostal Faith. Survivors include one son; Phillip Myron Sims of Texas; one brother, Paul Sims of Ohio; two sisters, Lillie Sims and Edna Arney both of Indianapolis, IN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A one day service has been scheduled for Friday, September 15, 2017 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm with funeral service beginning at 1pm. Burial will follow at Sims Cemetery in Kings Mountain, KY.
