Robert Foster

Robert Allen Foster, 69, of Stanford, KY passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lexington, KY. Born on February 21, 1955 in Casey County to the late Bob and Nita Foster. Robert was a Shop Foreman for The Allen Company for most of his life and retired from the Lincoln County Attorney Office. He was a member of the former McKinney Baptist Church.

Robert had an unparalleled love for sports that he shared with his family. He was known from his days as an avid softball player (who often played barefoot, to the amusement of many) and enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. His skills were unmatched, his dedication unwavering, and his love for competition was contagious. However, nothing could surpass the joy he felt watching his sons and grandchildren play sports. Those cherished moments filled his heart with a sense of love and pride that he valued above all else.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Sharlene Foster; two sons, Daniel Foster (Jenn) and Damon Foster (Amanda), both of Stanford; four grandchildren, Emma Kate Foster, Grady Foster, Audrey Foster, and Tucker Foster; one sister, Sharon Franklin (Billy) of Stanford; two brothers, Roger Foster (Lisa) and Mark Foster, both of Danville, KY; several nieces and nephews; and two close friends, Ralph League and James Atkins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Nita Foster; two sisters, Kathy Durham and Robyn Mitchell; and parent-in-laws, Dennis and Velma Foster.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 17, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Spurlin Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Dismuke officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.
