Stephen Paul Price

Stephen Paul Price (54) of Lancaster, KY passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Born August 5, 1970 in Somerset, KY to Jean (Playforth) Price and the late Paul Vernon Price, Stephen is survived by his mother; his wife Michelle (Herrington) Price; his children William Paul Price, Sarah Elizabeth Price, and Brayden Curtis Price; his granddaughter Adelynn Mae Price; his brothers Glenn (Cathy) Price of Somerset, KY, and Daryl (Sheila) Price of Bowling Green, KY; and several nieces and their families. Stephen was preceded in death by his father and daughter Emily Jean Price.

Stephen was a faithful Christian and member of the Danville KY Church of Christ, leading a life of love, compassion, and service. Stephen actively demonstrated his faith through preaching, teaching class, and—his greatest passion—leading and singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. When not serving his congregation, Stephen could be found humbly serving his family, friends, and community.

Stephen was a loving husband of 34 years and was active in the lives of his children and granddaughter. To his children he was Cubmaster, Assistant Scout Master, Band Dad, Soccer Dad, Football Dad, and walking encyclopedia. Their favorite activity to do together was hiking and being outdoors, often being found in either Red River Gorge or the Berea Pinnacles. For the last two years, Stephen greatly enjoyed being Pop-Pop to his granddaughter, with their favorite activities being reading and going to the park to swing and slide on slides.

Stephen was a 1988 graduate from Pulaski County High School and held a Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Technology and Business. Stephen worked in the IT industry for over 30 years, spending the last 17+ years working as a Principal Network Engineer for Extreme Networks, and enjoying the last 3 years working alongside his son William. Stephen was a respected and valued member of the industry, with both customers and colleagues alike cherishing his innovative mind, his commitment to doing what was right, and his passion for technology.
Stephen was a man of many talents and hobbies. Around the home, he enjoyed cooking, gardening, farmwork, and crafting, with cake decorating being a particular favorite. Away from the home, Stephen enjoyed traveling, eating a variety of foods, exploring, and riding his motorcycle with his children and as a member of the Vulcan Riders of Kentucky. In his life, Stephen touched many lives. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Ferlin Price officiating. Burial will follow at Hazeldell Cemetery in Somerset, KY.

Active Pallbearers are William Price, Brayden Price, Sarah Price, Glenn Price, Daryl Price and Curt Herrington.
