Virginia "Jenny" Goens Leach Obituary (1942 - 2023)

Virginia "Jenny" Goens Leach, 81, of Waynesburg, KY passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 24, 2023. Born on February 16, 1942 in Ottenheim, KY to the late Eugene and Margaret Johnson Goens. She is the widow to the late Arnold Dayton Leach. Jenny loved Bingo, working in the yard, flowers, sewing and quilting. She was a member of Lancaster Pentecostal Church. Survivors include eight children, Debby Cook (Monty), Sandy Whitt (Darrell), Danny Bowen, Donna Burton (Jeff), Beverly Carman (Mark Sanders), Jimmy "Jimbo" Bowen (Tammy), Margaret Bowen and Lisa Snow; one sister, Nancy Russell; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Leach; parents, Eugene and Margaret Goens; and one brother, Billy Goens. Visitation will be on Monday, August 28, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Dan Gutenson officiating. Burial will follow at Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg, KY. Active Pallbearers are Jimbo Bowen, Josh Bowen, Nathan Bowen, Cameron Davis, Austin Snow and Jason King. Honorary Pallbearer will be Daniel King, Matthew Perry and Stacey Davis.
